Who I Am
I am a working mom with two boys, two dogs, and a husband. I have a passion for helping individuals feel their best through lifestyle changes. My own healthy journey started out in heavy diet culture as a teen. I didn’t feel like I looked like my peers and I started dieting around the age of 14. These “diets” were always short lived and never left me with long lasting results, which kept me in the dieting circuit. This experience pushed me into studying nutrition and exercise at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and my Master’s Degree in Health Promotion and Physical Activity.
For the last 10 years I have worked mostly with adults living with serious and persistent mental illness. Through these 10 years, I really started to see the strong hold diet culture has had on our society and I started to focused on helping these individuals not only look at their food, but their stress, their sleep, their boundaries, their movement, and their whole person. Working with this population has given me such a different perspective on health and access, and pushed me to be creative in how I help everyone on their health journey.
I’m so excited to expand my knowledge to help even more individuals in the functional health space!
